Smith has led a number of workshops for adults and children. These included 1/2 day workshops exploring sculpture for Craven District Council, Settle Primary School, Clapham Primary School and Pool in Wharfedale Primary School. Smith has also taught workshops in London and for the Stroud Museum, Gloucestershire. On occasion Smith will give private tuition for portraiture.

For the past 5 years Smith has been teaching once a year at the Field Studies Centre at Malham Tarn, North Yorkshire a 3 day workshop entitled “Sculpture – an exploration”. The location is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park near to her studio. For further information see the Field Studies Centre website:-

This course is for anyone interested in gaining a better understanding of sculpture and is suitable for people of all abilities, including beginners. Through the use of clay there is the opportunity to explore both the “additive/building” work and “removing/carving”. The individual is encouraged – to draw themselves out allowing the natural development of their own work. Results can be both interesting and exciting – an open mind is all that is necessary
